A major crash involving five big rigs has closed eastbound Interstate 80 in the Castle Peak area.

Caltrans is advising motorists to expect major travel delays while emergency crews work to clear the area. There is no estimated time of reopening the highway.

Authorities are turning back all big rigs at Kingvale. Cars and small trucks are being detoured to old Highway 40 in the Soda Springs area.
