California risks losing billions in health care dollars if the state and federal governments can’t agree on a plan to fund reforms of the Medicaid program, hospital officials and experts said.

Public hospitals throughout the state are counting on the $7.25 billion in state and federal funds to treat large numbers of low-income and uninsured patients. The plan, known as a Medicaid waiver, also would allow the state to continue improving the efficiency, safety and quality of its Medicaid program, called Medi-Cal.

About a third of all Californians are enrolled in Medi-Cal — 12.5 million people. The current waiver, which took effect in 2010, expires on Oct. 31, though the federal government can grant an extension while negotiations over the plan continue.

Medicaid = welfare. One-third of all residents on welfare according to the article. This state and this country are finished as a great state and great nation.
It is no fun watching a once great country rot and decay from the inside. Sad.
Did I forget to mention the waste and fraud in the welfare medicine program?

State of california management of tax $s is quite a racket. Taking without my permission, about $100 a month from my disability checks for medical insurance that is so bad, I use it almost exclusively only for traumatic emergencies.

Then there is the california department of rehabilitation and community college (known to some as the community center) system racket. Department of rehab lies and makes up the most ludicrous excuses not to help with disabled people’s college costs. Couple that with all the malicious hacking and joke of school financial aid,…. The energetic go to the c.c. (community center) without proper supplies to do the homework and maybe learn at around 10%-30% of their ability. All the while the staff gets their relatively higher income wages paid because a warm, disabled, and educational supplies deficient body showed up to class.

Moral of the story, get a decent degree, work for the government, and who cares, mortgage got paid and the staff’s kids went to a great college. State of california is a great manager of tax $s.
