I am always saddened when I read stories like this. There is a bright end to this sad tale. When I clicked on “Read the Whole Story” this is when I found:

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said Thacher was found Tuesday afternoon in her dorm room at Sierra Nevada College.

So what this gal needs now is a lesson in better communication with her parents. I can’t even begin to know what they went through, all for nothing. YIKES. Thankfully, there was a happy ending, however.
