Teen robbed on South Lake Tahoe bike trail

suspectA South Lake Tahoe teenager was robbed Monday while walking on the path behind Motel 6 in South Lake Tahoe.

The 16-year-old told officers an adult male appeared from out of the bushes with his hand in a trench coat pocket, pointing it toward him like a gun. No weapon was actually seen or mentioned. The suspect demanded money from the victim, who promptly surrendered what he had. The suspect left the area on foot.

The victim was unharmed.

The suspect is described a white male, about 50 years old, 6 feet to 6-feet-3, stringy hair, and long bushy beard. He was wearing black sunglasses, black trench coat, grey undershirt, tattered blue jeans, and tattered white shoes.

    Fromform is right, this town DOES NOT need a warming shelter.

    We are a ski town. We cannot and should not be everything to everybody. Some elements need to move along with the weather.

    I was told the area behind Motel 6 is a camping area for homeless….. I the area should be monitored by SLTPD & bushes cut back so it is not scary

    The CCC just did a great job cleaning up the trash and removing trees and bushes from behind the post office at the Y. No more beggers and bums. Hope they make it to Sacramento for the winter.

    It has always been a mystery to me why the caps-lock key has been and on/off toggle since the days when computer screens were black and green and yet old people who should know better still type in ALL CAPS.
