dead bear·       The trial for Gilbert Wetenkamp, who is accused of killing a bear on the South Shore in July, is scheduled to start Jan. 8 in El Dorado County Superior Court.

·       NCE, a civil and environmental engineering firm headquartered in Reno with regional offices located throughout California, received the PSMJ 2015 circle of excellence award.

·      On Aug. 15, Carson City Deputy Sheriff Carl Howell was shot and killed while responding to a domestic violence call. On Dec. 8, the Nevada Department of Transportation will ceremonially dedicate the approximately nine-mile Carson City Freeway in the deputy’s name.

    This story needs to be followed well, plz Kae… The man who killed the bear is trying to get a change of venue to Placerville to run away from consequences of his actions.
    Also, please follow the El Dorado Sheriff who shot the bear on Susquehana this last week…I wonder if he will be cited?

    Trial should be here in Tahoe and not moved, I agree. If it is held up here maybe we can actually see the faces of the nut jobs on both sides of the issue when they show up to protest whether it’s for or against. Personally I blame the politicians for not getting involved and solving this issue.

    I wonder if leaving properly trained dogs unleashed is an appropriate remedy to keep wild animals in the wild.
