Moving rocks at Lake Tahoe comes with $5,000 fine

Moving rocks in Lake Tahoe so they would not scrape kayaks and creating an 8-foot-wide path 4 feet into the water as well as a rock line path in the sand cost Martis Camp Club $5,000.

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Governing Board approved the settlement agreement on Dec. 16.

The Beach Shack is located on the North Shore.

About 50 yards of shoreline was impacted.

The fine will be putĀ in a trust for special research projects and other directed purposes. It is not used for general TRPA operating expenses.
