One person has been shot to death in South Lake Tahoe and the suspects are on the loose.

Police officers were notified about 8pm Saturday that shots had been fired at the Beverly Lodge on Highway 50. When they arrived they found a man laying in the parking lot.

He was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Sgt. Travis Cabral said the man, whose name, age and hometown have not been released, was not staying at the hotel.

No one at the hotel on Jan. 30 would comment other than to say the police were there.

“We don’t have a suspect in custody right now,” Cabral told Lake Tahoe News. “Right now we have two or more suspects involved.”

He added that it’s possible the suspects and victim knew each other. A description of the suspects was not immediately available.

The type of gun involved and the number of shots fired is not being released at this time.

Officers would not say if this was gang related.

Keep building up Tahoe, and the cockroaches will come. This is why we left the city.

This is very uncomfortable . I live near the Beverly and don’t feel very safe not knowing anything other than someone has been killed and the murderers are on the loose. No description , no vehicle , what are our police doing? How are we supposed to feel safe having no idea . Will this just get swept under the rug like the murder of a 21 year old unarmed man by one of our own police officers? And to all of you who say get used to it or wanna blame motels and transient people. Think About it almost everyone in south lake lives in poverty based on statistics.

Refer to your gun safe for protection.

This follows the news of a prostitution ring being broken up. What great news to see on the main Sacto TV station. A real chamber might actually do press releases daily and weekly about the positive things coming out of Tahoe. Like medalists at the X games or news of the Amgen returning…… ooh that’s right….The chamber is busy with the loop road….like it matters.

This is why we have the right to bare arms.. To protect our family.

“This is why we left the city”
Every time I hear that I laugh. We sold our house in Pollock Pines back in the 1990s to a family who was leaving the city to keep their kids safe.
Suddenly there was a rash of burglaries in the neighborhood. A year or so later, the cops found almost all the stolen goods hidden under our old house.
Escaping the bad influence?? They WERE the bad influence.
Stay in your city and clean it up.

Hey Randy, While I do agree with you that we have the right, it is much too cold out for bare arms!

Good one John. It scares me that a person with that kind of IQ owns a weapon. We definitely need more stringent background checks.

Get rid of the week to week motels. They attract in too many fraudulent welfare and disability dirt bags.

IQ has very little relation to whether or not one should own a gun. Do you believe people of low intelligence have less right to defend themselves than intelligent people do? Do you think less intelligent people are more likely to be criminals than intelligent people are?
If you think that, you just might be a bigot.
