A suspected drug lab exploded Sunday night in South Lake Tahoe.

When firefighters got to the house on the corner of Plum Street and Bruce Drive just after 5:30pm April 24 there was no fire.

They put on their gear to make sure nothing was smoldering and no one was inside. Firefighters assisted Animal Control in getting out the two dogs.

Fire officials are calling it a possible honey oil lab. Butane is used to extract THC from marijuana to get the more concentrated honey oil.

The police are in charge of the investigation and they have not responded to inquiries.
