Fire damages house in Meyers area

South Lake Tahoe Human Resources Director Janet Emmett had a substantial part of her house damaged by fire early Monday morning.

A smoke detector woke her up about 4:50am on May 16.

When Lake Valley firefighters arrived at the West River Park Drive residence they found the second floor fully engulfed in flames. Crews were able to contain the fire to that level.

All three residents escaped without injury.

Emmett is in the process of moving, as she has accepted a job in Davis.
