Snippets about Lake Tahoe

·       There will be a memorial service for longtime Tahoe resident Malcolm Pribyl on July 17 at 3pm at the Meadow on Chinquapin Drive on the outskirts of South Lake Tahoe. Pribyl died on Jan. 19.

·       The fireworks display on the South Shore that is shot off near Edgewood Tahoe on July 4 will start at 9:45pm.

·       Barton Health Auxiliary volunteers are sponsoring a blood drive on July 29 from noon-5pm at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center, 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd. Bring a photo ID, eat well and drink plenty of fluids.

·       Kaya Williams and Bryn Anderson received the Tahoe Cross Country Ski Education Association’s Kevin Mundane Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each.

·       Ben Carter, author of “Mastering the Potter’s Wheel”, is putting on a workshop July 23-24, 9am-5pm at the Holman Arts and Media Center, 1008 Tahoe Blvd., Incline Village. Go online to register.
