Placer County Water Agency is doing so well with water supplies that it has surplus for sale.

The board of directors is selling up to 20,000 acre-feet to the Bureau of Reclamation. The cost is $300 per acre-foot.

Transfers are rather routine in non-drought years.

PCWA officials said the transfer will allow it to increase its hydroelectric output for the rest of the summer.
