Law enforcement and their family may eat and drink for free on Aug. 1 at California Burger Co. in the Heavenly Village, Beach House on Lakeside Beach and at the Beer Garden at Base Camp Hotel. All are in South Lake Tahoe

Ted Kennedy, who runs the establishments, on his Facebook page said,  “We appreciate you. We’re honored to have you with us. We can’t thank you enough for what you do. We want you to know that we stand behind you.”

He said in September a bigger thank you is coming that will involve all of his restaurants in the Tahoe area. He also owns Azul Latin Kitchen and Base Camp Pizza in South Lake Tahoe, as well as pizza places at Northstar and Squaw Valley. Kennedy said he will be encouraging other businesses to participate then.
