Zero fatalities on Nev. highways over Fourth
This was the first Fourth of July weekend in more than a decade that Nevada did not record a fatality on its highways.
There were two fatal crashes in 2012, 2013 and 2014. In 2015, there were five fatalities.
Last Thursday the Nevada Department of Public Safety and the Nevada Highway Patrol partnered with Uber and MADD in an effort to raise awareness of the dangers of driving under the influence and to offer solutions to drinking and driving. Uber offered discounted ride promo cards throughout Nevada.
Officials are pointing toward those efforts for helping with the results.
