Douglas County hosting stormwater meetings

Douglas County is hosting a series of meetings to discuss stormwater issues specific to geographic areas.

Staff will explain how a stormwater management program and utility fee might work. A presentation will be given at each meeting and will include recommendations from the Citizen’s Flood Task Force, examples of how a stormwater management program could work. Public input will sought, too.

 

On Aug. 18 the Douglas County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with House Moran Consulting for the implementation of the Douglas County Stormwater Utility.

The meetings are:

  • Sept. 12, 6-8pm — Genoa Town Hall, 2287 Main St.
  • Sept. 13, 6-8pm — Johnson Lane Fire Station No. 6, 1450 Stephanie Way, Minden
  • Sept. 14, 6-8pm — Douglas County Community and Senior Center dining room, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville
  • Sept. 19, 6-8pm — Kahle Community Center-Tallac Conference Room. 236 Kingsbury Grade, Stateline
  • Sept. 20, 6-8pm — TRE Community Center, 3939 Carter Way
  • Sept. 21, 6-8pm — Fish Springs Fire Station No. 9, 2249 Fish Springs Road, Gardnerville.
