Housing help available for low income in EDC

For the first time since 2008, El Dorado County’s Public Housing Authority will open its housing choice voucher waiting list.

Formerly known as Section 8, the federal money provides rental assistance to income qualified individuals and families. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or have eligible immigration status.

Applications will be accepted online from Oct. 17-23. A computer generated lottery will review and select the 500 applications that will comprise the waiting list.
