The pilot of a missing plane was found deceased outside the wreckage of the aircraft this afternoon.

A large contingent of search and rescue personnel from El Dorado and Douglas counties left Lake Tahoe Airport on Tuesday afternoon via transport from military helicopters.

The 1960 Cessna 182 was located at 4:25pm Oct. 18 southwest of Lake Schmidell in what officials called a “rugged area.”

Tyrell Kremer, 52, was flying alone. The Wilton man was returning Saturday to the Jackson Airport in Amador County from a trip to Idaho. High winds along with snow and rain were coming down when the plane lost contact.
