·       The nonprofit Tahoe Figure Skating Club is sponsoring a Halloween event, with free skating for the community donated to by Tahoe Sports and Entertainment. There will be free skating in costumes, an exhibition by local skaters, and more free skating on Oct. 29 starting at 3pm.

·       Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Citizen Corps is offering an emergency preparedness and response training academy beginning Oct. 13. The training is free and trainees are not required to become a Citizen Corps volunteer to participate. For more info, go online.
