STHS boys’ tennis team going to state

South Tahoe High School’s undefeated boys’ tennis team is going to compete for the state championship.
The team beat Truckee 10-8 on Oct. 7. This is the first time the Vikings won the 3A Northern Nevada Regional Championship. The team is undefeated this year with a 12-0 record.
“I am proud of the team this season, especially for winning all of the matches against our rival Truckee. The players worked hard and are looking forward to competing in the state tournament,” coach William Davenport told Lake Tahoe News.
The state tournament will be in Reno in two weeks. Next week players will compete in the individual regional tournament.
STHS has nine seeded players:
Singles:
  • Hawley Jarrett
  • John Larue
  • Matthew Barnett
Doubles:
  • Louis Marin and Mickey Sullivan
  • Quinn Proctor and Pete Sullivan
  • Jackson Kuzmik and Bryin Schouten.
