Update 3:59pm:

Alpine Meadows will not open today because of a power outage.

Liberty Utilities expects to have power restored by 8pm Sunday. At the height of the incident there were 685 customers in this area of Placer County without electricity.

A backhoe took out a power pole just before 5:30am Sunday, which meant the lines came down, too.

About a foot of snow fell at lake level overnight on the North Shore, with even more snow higher.

Sister resort Squaw Valley is open with 15 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours.
