Thanksgiving Day is likely to be the best day to travel this weekend in the Sierra.

While a storm early today didn’t drop much white stuff at lake level, it did bring several inches to the higher reaches of area ski resorts.

Another storm is slated to move into the area late Friday. An even colder system will blow in Sunday.

Wind and cold are almost guaranteed by the National Weather Service in Reno, with snow and rain mixed in throughout the weekend.
