SLT candidate’s paperwork on desk at City Hall
It was disclosed late Nov. 4 that Jason Collin’s political financial documents have been sitting in the South Lake Tahoe city clerk’s office.
“Apparently a Form 460 was dropped off at the finance counter in an envelope marked Susan Alessi and was left on her desk. She has been out of the office and I don’t open what looks like personal mail left on her desk,” Assistant City Clerk Ellen Palazzo told Lake Tahoe News.
She has since opened the envelope. These are the forms it contained: Collin 497 and Collin 460.
Collin is running for South Lake Tahoe City Council. To have not filed the documents would have been a violation of state law.
The Fair Political Practices Commission had been told Collin had not filed his paperwork. Collin said he did. That led to Palazzo looking on her boss’ desk.

Sorry, that’s not acceptable. The most important week of the last 103 weeks and you don’t open the mail left at city offices. Do they really think this is OK?
Was drop off date of information date stamped? Anyone
So Lou, I’m curious. Who are you willing to openly endorse in this city council election?
I’m not asking that question with any ulterior motives.
The only candidate I can openly endorse is my long time friend and hard working small business owner John Shearer. Although new to local politics, he’s a long time South Lake Tahoe local who along with his wife Shannon have not only been successful and hard working business owners, they have been deeply enmeshed in raising their children and participating in every opportunity allowed by volunteering in many youth and community activities in our South Shore home.
Whether any of you folks agree or not with my endorsement, PLEASE get out and vote this coming Tuesday, November 8th!
Dear Kae:
It appears that Mr. Collin’s Form 460 is incomplete. Where is Schedule “E” which sets forth payments made by the committee? Every payment over $100 must be specifically listed and all payments under $100 must be totaled within this schedule. The summary page references a Schedule “E”. Did the City Clerk’s office release all pages submitted by Mr. Collin? Or did Mr. Collin fail to submit a complete form? As to the pages available for review, Mr. Collin fails to fill-in the section entitled “Schedule A Summary” and fails to fill-in the page numbers of each page submitted (the form provides “Page ____ of ____” for each attached page), which would clarify the number of pages submitted and whether Schedule ”E” was included.
This stinks of a cover-up. An envelope with a name on it, dropped off. It doesn’t say something like candidate paperwork, or even Form 460 ? Someone at the city is covering for Collin. Is this more Nevada influence ?
