·       Over the last year, Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe found homes for 100 percent of the adoptable and treatable pets received from Placer County. The average length of stay for animals in the new shelter is 12.8 days for dogs and 46.5 days for cats. That is a significant decrease from the average length of stay of four to six months for dogs and nine months for cats at the old Tahoe Vista shelter.

·      Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce will host a meeting about the new federal overtime rules on Nov. 16 from noon-1:30pm at Tahoe Mountain Lab in South Lake Tahoe. The rules take effect Dec. 1.

·      Karla and Jeff Brennan are the new owners of South Lake Tahoe’s Cork & More.

·       Mammoth Mountain will host the Revolution Tour on Feb. 7-12, with slopestyle, halfpipe and big air competitions in its Unbound Terrain Park.

·       The final EIR/EIS for Placer County’s Tahoe Basin Area Plan has been released. It is available online. The Board of Supervisors will discuss it Dec. 6 in Kings Beach, with the Governing Board of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency having it on the Jan. 25-26 agenda.
