Don’t bet on a white Christmas at Tahoe

Forecasters are having difficulty in predicting whether the Reno-Tahoe area will have a white Christmas this year.
A system that currently is headed toward the Sierra has a 25 to 35 percent chance of bringing precipitation to the Tahoe basin and northward as early as Thursday and possibly through the weekend, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Marvin Boyd.
