Historic Rainbow Lodge drying out

SODA SPRINGS — In the 40 degree weather, the cool breeze of fans work to dry out the Rainbow Lodge basement in Soda Springs.
The pressure of South Yuba River’s heavy floodwaters Saturday was too much for the lodge’s stone foundation. Water seeped its way through the basement. Parts were under five inches of water.
“I wasn’t scared, it was more ‘oh my goodness, what area we going to do now?'” said general manager Randy Kure.
