Calif. trees subject of poster, video contests

To help educate Californians on the value trees provide to building successful, healthy cities and neighborhoods, CalFire and California ReLeaf are sponsoring a poster contest for students in grades 3-5.

In addition, the two groups are having a video contest for students in grades 6-8. Those rules are also online.

For each contest, students are asked to create original artwork or video based on the theme “Trees Are Superheroes!”

Submissions are due Feb. 14. Winners will be featured at the State Fair in the summer.
