A backcountry skier had to be rescued from the Flora Lake area on Friday.
The skier, whose name has not been disclosed, was one of four who left from the Donner Pass rest area on Interstate 80 on Jan. 27. An injury to the man’s leg prevented him from continuing.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter retrieved him from the back country at about 1pm. An ambulance took him to Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee.
