An unknown amount of wastewater effluent spilled into the Carson River Tuesday and Wednesday.
That’s according to the Douglas County Sewer Improvement District which operates a pipeline that moves treated wastewater from Stateline-area casinos, businesses and homes to agricultural land in the Carson Valley.
Rob Hopkins, general manager of the sewer district, said officials noticed the rupture at about 11am Tuesday. The break was repaired by about 11:35am Wednesday, he said.
