Missing Alpine snowboarder found safe

A Bay Area snowboarder who went missing Saturday at Alpine Meadows has been found safe.

The 32-year-old man from Oakland had hiked about three miles to an area known as Diamond Crossing.

His name has not been provided.

The snowboarder was on the back side of the mountain. Placer County sheriff’s search and rescue team lead him out of the backcountry on Feb. 18.
