·      State Sen. Ted Gaines, R-El Dorado, sent a letter to President Trump requesting that in light of the Oroville Dam crisis he take action to conduct an immediate and thorough inspection of Folsom Dam; the existing Folsom Dam spillways; the soon-to-be-completed auxiliary spillway; and all levees potentially affected by a dam failure or unregulated flow from Folsom Lake.

·      Heavenly Mountain Resort will stay open daily through April 23, and then the weekend of April 28-30; Northstar will close April 23, and Kirkwood will stop operating April 16.

·      Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows say they plan to operate into June and will reopen just for July 4.

·      El Dorado County’s Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee will be meeting March 27 from 3-5pm to discuss Proposition 64, the California Marijuana Legalization Initiative. The meeting will be at the Board of Supervisors room in Placerville.

·       The movie “Storks” (rated PG) will be shown March 4 at 2pm in the Minden Library meeting room. The movie and popcorn are free.
