Exterior fire at Truckee auto parts store

A fire at the O’Reilly Auto Parts store in Truckee only caused damage to the outside of the building.

Even though firefighters had to cut holes in the roof March 24, the store was able to reopen the following day.

The call came in about 6pm from a passer-by who saw flames from the roof of the store in the Save Mart center.

While the cause is under investigation, old electrical wire is suspected to be the culprit, according to Truckee fire officials.An employee of the store told Lake Tahoe News. there was no damage to the inside of the store and just a little bit to the exterior.— Lake Tahoe News staff report
