LTUSD board agenda — raises, accreditation

Lake Tahoe Unified School District’s board of education on Tuesday is expected to give all employees a 2 percent raise.

The raise is for the current school year and would be retroactive to Jan. 1.

Also part of the contract agreement is for the district to increase what it pays for health insurance from $10,232 per year to $11,000 per year effective Oct. 1, 2017.

The board is also being asked to approve a one-time early retirement incentive program for teachers for the 2017-18 school year. A minimum of six full-time certificated teachers must participate for the program to go through.

Also on the March 28 agenda will be an update of the state budget and how it impacts LTUSD. The board will also be discussing South Tahoe High School’s accreditation.

The meeting starts at Lake Tahoe Community College at 6pm with that institution’s board. All those agenda items affect both entities. The LTUSD meeting then resumes at 7:30pm at the district office.
