Calif. water conservation increases in Feb.

It’s easy to use less water when Mother Nature provides it. Such was the case for Californians in February.

The state Water Resources Control Board on April 4 said residential water use in February was down 25.1 percent compared to 2013. That is the base year the state uses.

In 2016, the savings rate was 11.9 percent.

Even though this has been one of the wettest winters on record, Gov. Jerry Brown has not lifted the drought-emergency declaration. However, that could change any day.
