Rapid response to South Tahoe roof fire

South Lake Tahoe firefighters on the afternoon of June 24 were able to keep a structure fire from causing much damage.

The Springwood Drive fire was on the roof where pine needles were ignited by heat tape.

It was quickly extinguished.

Pine needles should be removed regularly from roofs and gutters, and heat tape only used when there is snow and/or ice.
