CHP officer injured in El Dorado County

A Placerville-area California Highway Patrol officer is recovering from injuries suffered Monday in a struggle with a suspect in a rural area of El Dorado County.
The suspect, 20-year-old Michael Treece, was taken into custody after a vehicle pursuit and manhunt, according to a CHP Facebook post.
The incident began Monday morning when Officer Ian Hoey, the Placerville CHP area’s community resource officer, was on patrol in the Grizzly Flat area in southern El Droado County, following up on traffic complaints.
