· The nonprofit Tahoe Figure Skating is sponsoring a Halloween event. There will be $5 skating in costumes (skate rentals included), and an exhibition by local skaters on Oct. 28 form 2:15-6:15pm at the South Lake Tahoe Ice Arena.
· Dave Brady has announced his candidacy for sheriff of Douglas County.

· Placer County Board of Supervisors will meet Oct. 23 in Tahoe. They will hear an update on the county’s efforts to ensure short-term lodging providers are collecting their fair share of guest lodging tax, and consider a policy on the investment of those funds and approval of several local projects that would be funded with revenue from them.
