Bradley Hurley didn’t last long as Douglas County assistant county manager. He was hired Sept. 13 and his last day was Oct. 31.

It is not known if the county didn’t want him or he didn’t want the county.

“Probation periods are an opportunity for both the employee and the employer to determine if the relationship is a good fit,” County Manager Larry Werner said in a press release.

This was the first time the county had the sole position of an assistant county manager. In the past the ACM and CFO were the same person. Hurley’s salary was $105,000 a year.

Prior to joining the county, Hurley had been the information technology officer for the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center located at Bridgeport.

The other finalist for the job was Philip Ritger, Genoa town manager.

Melissa Blosser, county spokeswoman, told Lake Tahoe News there has been no decision as to the process for looking for another ACM.
