· There will be fundraiser Dec. 9 for Tina Pearce, who was in a horrific car accident this fall. It will be at 7pm at Divided Sky in Meyers. A donation of $10 will be collected at the door.
· Douglas County is hosting a public workshop concerning the Waterloo Lane Reconstruction Project. It will be Dec. 14 from 5:30-6:30pm at the Douglas County Community Center in Minden in the Ceramics Room.

· Daron Rahlves of Truckee, one of the most decorated male downhill skiers in U.S. history, had a portion of the notorious Birds of Prey in Beaver Creek, Colo., named after him this month. A section just below the Brink is now called Rahlves’ Roll.
· Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Resort opens Dec. 8.
