NIAA board votes against proposed 5A Class

If you were a proponent of facing the biggest and best schools in state athletic competitions, you got your wish.
But, if you preferred not facing Bishop Gorman — or any other large-school Southern Nevada powerhouses — you will have to suffer for at least two more years.
The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association board of control voted, 7-2, Thursday to not create a new 5A Class in high school sports in the fall.
