Proposed Nev. wilderness could be Trump-era first

Nevada’s Pershing County could become home to the first new wilderness designations of the Trump era.
A bill that cleared the House of Representatives by voice vote on Wednesday would designate seven new wilderness areas covering more than 136,000 acres in the northern Nevada county.
It still needs Senate approval and a presidential signature — or veto override — to become law.
