Snippets about Lake Tahoe
· On Feb. 8 a group of approximately 25 local residents had a meeting to form the NoGlobe Alliance. Its purpose is to influence South Lake Tahoe elected leaders to stop, move or modify SnowGlobe so it does not disrupt the residents. To be a part of this group, email noglobe18@gmail.com. The next meeting is scheduled for March. Location TBA.
· Here is the El Dorado-Tahoe roadwork schedule from Caltrans for the week.
· Truckee police on Feb. 9 were told by residents they were receiving fraudulent telephone calls from the Truckee Police Department’s main phone line. The caller claimed that they had warrants and would be arrested if they did not give the caller money. Officers will not call asking for money. Any with questions should call TPD at 530.550.2320.
· On the March 20 Truckee Planning Commission agenda will be the draft commercial cannabis regulations. The meeting starts at 6pm at the airport. The documents will be posted by 5pm March 15.
The City Council will be voting on a giving a TEN YEAR CONTRACT to SnowGlobe in March. If you have concerns, now is the time to add your name &/or make a comment.
I agree with Diana – make your position known – in writing or at the Council meeting ON THE RECORD. Personally, I hope the community is able to stop SNOW GLOBE from happening in the neighborhood — we hear it way over at the end of Tahoe Sierra. Who wants all that stessful pounding in your neighborhood during the holidays when we hope to relax with family? The money to the City is just not worth the painful aggravation to those who make their homes in Tahoe! Make sure you express your opinion before March!
