STPUD pays salaries to non-degree holder, labor workers at are above Bay Area salaries. A guy I know was hired from Meeks years ago – had no college education, and started at $35 per hour! He probably makes $50 per hour now – doing what? A job that should pay $20 per hour. The public should really look at what STPUD is paying their employees — it is out of the park! I believe in paying employees a good, living wage — but they are “out of the park”. Budget — this utility service needs to have a customer ombudsman on the payroll!

STPUD will always pay exorbitant salaries because they can, they do and no one does anything about it. And, they just pass on the increased costs to us. Oh they blame the rising costs on new meters and projects, but it all comes dow to salaries. STPUD thinks the public is stpud because we keep letting this happen. And we do. We don’t show up to protest, we don’t elect board members who will take a stand against the employees,, we don’t do anything.
