Man threatens to jump from Hard Rock
Douglas County sheriff’s deputies were able to talk a man out of jumping from an eighth floor balcony at the Lake Tahoe Hard Rock in Stateline.
Tahoe Douglas fire crews as well as the CalStar medical helicopter were on standby.
The incident started about 2pm April 24 and was resolved by 4:55pm.

I hope he gets the mental health care he needs.
I’m not sure if anyone else was listening to the local radio yesterday when this went down.
It was 96.1 Dru with a “U”
Well the dj went on to talk about this as a joke and mock the situation. — Don’t jump today the weather is awful, there are better days than April 24th to jump off a building…etc. Then he went on to joke that he has the perfect song for the occasion…He played “Jump” by Van Halen.
It was really a class act.
I did not personally hear this on 96.1 yesterday. To make a mockery of someone’s extreme pain (mental or physical) is horrifyingly cruel! I hope this DJ is given a final written warning or terminated for his insensitivity. I will not be listening to this station and I urge others to make other listening choices. That kind behavior should not be supported or tolerated!
How much did he lose?
John S,
I’ll have to take your word for it that’s what was said. Cause I think you actually were the only one listening. On a good day that number may go up to 2 or 3 listeners!
Yes, someone should be terminated for making such comments. A warning? Anyone over 18 should know better!
But that station’s on air personalities are so lousy that the new owners need to do a total house cleaning anyway! Cause like I stated, on a good day it has 2 or 3 listeners.
It was in shockingly poor taste. Time for some new on air talent.
