Children needed for ‘Aladdin’ auditions

Auditions for Missoula Children’s Theatre production of “Aladdin” are July 6 from 10am-noon at the South Tahoe Middle School multipurpose room.

There are roles for approximately 60 children in K-12. Participants must be 5 and have completed kindergarten.

Among the roles to be cast are Aladdin and his Mother; the Princess Dory and her father, the Sultan; along with his adviser the Grand Vizier; the keeper of the Book of Answers; Dinazade and her sister Scheherazade; the Mysterious One; some mischievous genies; a stubborn donkey; a spunky goat; scheming Cassim; Ali Baba; Sinbad and his sailors; wise-cracking palm trees and fleet footed camels; a cave of wonders; vagabonds; a pack of lost penguins and assistant directors.

There is no charge to audition. If cast, a $50 per child fee will be charged to participate in this weeklong
theater program. A limited number of scholarships are available.

The first rehearsal (depending on role) begins approximately 30 minutes after the auditions. Rehearsals will be conducted Tuesday-Thursday from 10am-2:30pm at STMS. The performances will be July 10 at 3pm and 6pm at STMS.
