Deputies rescue injured man from Rubicon Trail
A man was seriously injured in the Rubicon Spring area of the Rubicon Jeep Trail.
Because of low clouds, thunderstorms, lightning, wind, and heavy downpours in the area, no helicopter could respond on the morning of July 8.
.The patient was stabilized as best as possible and the decision was made to drive him out by an El Dorado County sheriff’s OHV unit. The deputies loaded the patient into the EDSO Rubicon Jeep at Buck Island Lake.
While transporting the patient, there was only room for one deputy and the injured male. The second deputy had to walk. The trail was extra dangerous due to the heavy rain and limited visibility.
As of today, the patient is reportedly in good condition. The name and hometown of the person have not been released, nor has any info about how the person was hurt or what the injuries were.

The ‘EDSO Rubicon Jeep’. I’ve seen this thing I PAID for. Give me a freakin break. They have that nice aluminum boat on Tahoe too. What’s next.. a top fuel funny car?
Tahoe blue wire give me your address and I’ll pay you the two cents you paid for the jeep and boat. It would be nice to have a Leo rescue helicopter. It is better to have it and not need it then to need it and not have it.
Why would anyone living in the mountains ***** about the Sheriff having a 4WD vehicle? Or a boat in a lake the size of Tahoe? Teabaggers, sheesh.
You kids are so far up the pigs arse you can’t think clearly. The jeep looks like a trophy truck for hecks sake. Total over kill. It’s the principal of spending. I suppose you both support the city military MRAP vehicle? Or the GIANT (and broken) fire truck that never gets used? It’s all worth it though to save a life or 2. NOT.
I would check the fact. I believe that Jeep donated the original Jeep and someone else donated “beefing it up” so that EDSD would have access to the Rubicon for just such events. I don’t think any citizens paid two cents for the Jeep.
TBW, hopefully the rescue guys will read this and NOT bother to come save your sorry arse when you need it as you obviously dont want any help, although you certainly seem to need some serious help (IMHO)
