The DeepFlight Dragon is being tested at Lake Tahoe.

The personal submarine was assembled in Richmond, with initial tests in the salt water. Tahoe was selected as the deep-water dive location.

According to company officials, one of the biggest new features on the Dragon is the ability for it to hover.

The company’s website says, “As the pilot in a boundless sea, you have the freedom to chart your own course and explore a piece of the planet no human has seen before.”

From their website: “The DeepFlight Dragon weights 3,968 pounds (about 1,800 kilograms), … and even a paint scheme to match or complement your megayacht. Price: $1.5 million.”

I wonder if they will witness the legends of Lake Tahoe’s underwater glimpses of the unfortunate souls who fell victim to her waters and the herds of huge Lake Trout, etc.
