Logger dies in accident on West Slope

A man was crushed by a log Wednesday while working in the Eldorado National Forest.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received the call about 10am Oct. 14 regarding the accident off Wentworth Springs Road on the West Slope.

The name of the man and logging company he was working for have not been released.

Deputies said he sustained fatal head injuries from the accident.
