Family of 6 rescued near Ice House Reservoir
By Sarah Heise, KCRA-TV
A father and his five children were rescued by the California Highway Patrol after becoming stranded in a wooded and snowy area of El Dorado County for hours, according to officers.
The family of six went on an off-road excursion about 8am Nov. 29 in the Ice House Reservoir area, but realized they were lost soon after.
The Elk Grove father named Ed called the CHP about 2:30pm and told them that his pickup truck had begun sliding toward a cliff, and that he had been holding the brake pedal with both feet for some time to prevent it from going over the edge, the CHP said.
Another idiot and this time he took his kids along. Hope that rescue cost is coming out of his pocket.
Glad the kids are safe.
How is this not child endangerment? These days your kid goes to school with a bruise and they are coming to your house questioning you. By definition this tool endangered his kids and almost received the Darwin Award in the process. Very stupid.
I agree with Steven. Very irresponsible to take 5 kids into a snowy wilderness…. Very stupid. They are lucky to have been found before the truck slid over the cliff. Really irresponsible!
Darwin Award contender right here. Flatlander idiots really need to learn their place. Stay in Sacramento next time. It must be hard on those kids having such a stupid father.
