If I recall, yearss ago when we were at Squaw Valley, we noticed that in winter, fire hydrants were marked with a 5-or 6′ pole with blue top to indicate a fire-hydrant was there. Maybe SLT could provide these poles to hydrant neighbors to install in winter, and provide training for correct installation. Just a thought….

The Jan. 7th CTC meeting at LTCC is going to have information about the continuation of the bike/ped trail across Trout Creek Meadow from Sierra Blvd. to Bijou Park, also, information about a proposed land swap between the college and CTC, according to a handout I received from the CTC.

    Neighbors
Most hydrants have the very poles you’ve suggested. I’ve been doing ‘our’ hydrant for awhile now. Sometimes the challenge is just removing the burm but keeping in mind the fireman needs to be able to remove the cap and screw the hose in place. Saving precious seconds at this moment in time can be very valuable for a house in your neighborhood….
