library book sale·      Friends of the South Lake Tahoe Library is having a book sale March 12 starting at 10am at the library on Rufus Allen Boulevard. It includes hundreds of previously read and some new books. FOL members get in an hour early. Not a member? Join now or the morning of the sale.

·       The U.S. Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit is accepting public comment until April 4 for the Off-Highway Vehicle Cooperative Funds grant applications submitted to the state. For more information about the grants and how to comment, go online or email Jacob Quinn at jmquinn@fs.fed.us.

·       South Lake Tahoe’s newest string band Hare of the Dawg will be at Whiskey Dicks Saloon in South Lake Tahoe on March 12. Must be at least 21. Doors open at 9pm. No cover.

·       Slow Food Lake Tahoe is hosting a Homebrewing with Alibi Ale Works class on April 2 from noon-4pm at 204 East Enterprise St., Incline Village. Cost is $25. For more info, email info@slowfoodlaketahoe.org.

·       There will be community soup nights on March 23 at Red Truck at the Truckee Tahoe Airport and April 6 at Fifty Fifty Brewing in Truckee. Cost is $5 and run 6-7:30pm. Soup night brings a savory and affordably priced meal made from local, sustainably grown ingredients to the community. This is a collaboration between Slow Food Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Food Hub.
