The balmy weather in the basin that has been warm enough for people to wade into the water is going away, at least temporarily.
The National Weather Service in Reno is calling it a “slider storm”. Snow showers are expected late Sunday and will continue into Monday afternoon. Daytime highs between Sunday and Monday may drop 20 degrees. The high today and Sunday will be in the 50s, and Monday and Tuesday it will be in the 30s.
Snow is expected to reach Carson City and Reno as well.
